Spare rooms, student halls, bunk beds and box rooms: our single duvet covers cover all of them, with over 230 designs to pick from. A UK single duvet is 135 x 200cm, and every set here comes with one matching pillowcase. Also in single: kids bedding, brushed cotton bedding and single Christmas bedding.

UK single bedding sizes

A UK single duvet measures 135 x 200cm, and it goes on a single bed of 90 x 190cm, sometimes called a 3ft bed. That gives a decent overhang on both sides, which is what stops a duvet sliding off in the night.

Every single duvet set on this page includes one housewife pillowcase at the standard UK size of 50 x 75cm. If you want a second pillowcase, or an oxford style with a border, our pillowcases page sells them separately.

Who single bedding is actually for

Mostly three people: someone kitting out a spare room, a parent moving a child out of a cot bed and into a proper single, and a student packing for halls. Each wants something slightly different, which is why the range runs from grown up florals and checks through to dinosaurs and gaming prints.

For a spare room, pick something neutral that will not date and buy two sets so one is always clean. For a child, let them choose, then buy a plain set for the weeks the favourite is in the wash. For halls, easy care matters more than anything: look for non iron microfibre, which comes out of a shared tumble dryer looking fine.

FAQs about single bedding

What size is a single duvet in the UK?

135 x 200cm. It fits a standard single bed of 90 x 190cm, also sold as a 3ft bed. All our single duvet covers are made to that size.

How many pillowcases come with a single duvet set?

One, at the standard UK housewife size of 50 x 75cm. Double and king sets come with two. Extra pillowcases are sold separately.

Will a single duvet fit a cot bed?

No, a cot bed takes a smaller toddler duvet, usually 120 x 150cm. Our toddler duvet cover sets are the right size for that.

What is the difference between single and small double?

A small double, or 4ft bed, is wider at 120 x 190cm and needs a double duvet. A single duvet will leave it uncovered at the sides.

Are these suitable for bunk beds?

Yes. Bunk beds take standard single bedding. A lighter tog duvet and a non iron cover are worth it for the top bunk, since making it up is a job in itself.
