Striped Bedding & Duvet Covers

(27 products)

There is a reason striped bedding never goes out of style: it makes a bed look tidy even when it is not. Ours runs from crisp Oxford stripes to soft candy stripe brushed cotton and easy chambray, plus reversible sets with a stripe on the back for when you fancy a change. Striped duvet sets from £9, in single, double and king, all machine washable and most of them non iron.

Also worth a look: check and gingham bedding, brushed cotton bedding and plain duvet cover sets.

Striped Bedding at Happy Home Shop

Which stripe suits your room

Stripes are not all the same animal. A fine pinstripe or an Oxford stripe reads smart and hotel like, which suits a plain room that needs a bit of structure. A wider candy stripe is softer and more seaside, and our Candy Stripe Brushed Cotton set does it in proper brushed cotton so it feels warm rather than crisp.

Then there is chambray, which is barely a stripe at all, more of a woven texture, and it is the one to pick if you want calm. The Happy Home Sustainable Chambray Stripe set uses BCI cotton if that matters to you. Several sets are reversible too, with a stripe on one side and a plain or patterned reverse, so one duvet cover gives you two beds.

Styling stripes, and mixing them with checks

The trick with stripes is direction. Horizontal stripes make a narrow bed look wider, vertical ones make a low room feel taller, and running them along the length of the bed is the safest choice if you are not sure. Keep the sheets plain in one colour pulled from the stripe and the whole thing looks deliberate.

Stripes also mix better than people expect. A stripe with a check in the same colour family is a classic country bedroom, and a stripe with a floral works as long as one of them is small scale. If you want to keep it simple, a grey or navy stripe with white bedlinen is almost impossible to get wrong.

Plenty of our sets do both patterns at once, so if it is specifically a check you are after, gingham, tartan, argyle or brushed cotton check, have a look at our check and gingham bedding instead.

FAQs about striped bedding

How much is striped bedding?

Our striped duvet sets start at £9 and include matching pillowcases. Brushed cotton striped sets start at £18. Prices vary by bed size, so check the product page for yours.

What sizes does striped bedding come in?

Single, double and king across the range, with some designs in super king too. Every product page lists the sizes available for that design.

Do you have cotton striped bedding?

Yes. The Candy Stripe Brushed Cotton duvet set and matching sheet set are brushed cotton, and the Happy Home Sustainable Chambray Stripe set uses a BCI cotton blend.

Which way should stripes run on a bed?

Along the length of the bed is the safest and most common. Stripes running across the bed make a narrow bed look wider, so it is worth thinking about the shape of the room rather than following a rule.

Is striped bedding non iron?

Most of our polycotton and microfibre striped sets are easy care and non iron. Brushed cotton sets will crease a little, which is part of the look, but a quick shake out is usually enough.

What is included in a striped duvet set?

A duvet cover with matching pillowcases: one with a single, two with a double or king. Fitted sheets are sold separately unless the product says complete set.
