Patterned Bedding & Duvet Covers

One patterned thing per bed is usually plenty. If the duvet is busy, keep the sheets and pillowcases plain in a colour taken from the print, and let the pattern be the event. A single plain throw across the foot of the bed settles the whole thing down if it feels too much.

If the room itself is busy, with patterned curtains or a rug, either go plain on the bed or pick a print that shares the room’s main colour. Ombre designs are useful here, since a graded colour reads almost like a plain from across the room but still gives you something to look at. What is the difference between this and the floral page?

Florals are all flower prints. This page is everything else with a pattern that is not a check, a stripe or an animal, so hearts, ombre fades, painterly prints and leafy designs.

What is included in a patterned duvet set?

A duvet cover with matching pillowcases: one with a single, two with a double or king. Fitted sheets are sold separately unless the product says complete set.

How do I wash patterned bedding?

Machine wash at 40 degrees or below with similar colours to keep the print sharp. Turning it inside out helps. Most designs here are easy care and need little ironing.
