Gothic Bedding

(7 products)

If your taste runs darker than the average pastel duvet set, gothic bedding is where you belong. Ours goes properly moody: skulls and roses, tarot cards, spiders, moons and stars, all in black and inky shades that make a bedroom feel like a set from a film. Duvet sets from £6 in single, double and king, machine washable, and soft enough that the drama stops at the design.

What makes a duvet set gothic

Gothic bedding is mostly about the palette. Black, charcoal, deep purple and blood red, with the pattern picked out in silver or bone white rather than anything bright. Get that right and almost any motif works, which is why the range covers everything from roses to skeletons.

Our designs split into three rough camps. Skulls and bones: Gothic Skulls, Skulls & Roses and the Black Spider set, which is the one people buy for October. Occult and tarot: the Tarot set and Gothic Magick, both covered in symbols and script. And celestial: the Celestial and Manifesting sets, with moons, stars and suns, which are the gentlest way into the look if full skulls feels like a lot.

Gothic bedding for Halloween, and the rest of the year

A lot of people find this page in October, and the skull and spider designs do the job better than anything with a pumpkin on it. The advantage is that they still look deliberate in February. Buy Halloween bedding and it goes back in the cupboard on 1 November. Buy gothic bedding and it just stays on the bed.

If you want the mood without committing the whole bed, put a gothic duvet cover with plain black or deep grey sheets and keep the rest of the room simple. Our plain duvet cover sets have the sheets for it. Warm lamps rather than a big ceiling light does more for the atmosphere than any amount of pattern, and a black or charcoal throw folded at the foot finishes it off.

FAQs about gothic bedding

How much is gothic bedding?

Our gothic duvet sets start at £6 and include matching pillowcases. Prices vary by bed size, so check the product page for yours. Free UK delivery on orders over £50.

What sizes does gothic bedding come in?

Single, double and king across the range. Each product page lists exactly which sizes that design comes in.

Do you have Halloween bedding?

We do not have a Halloween range as such, but the Black Spider, Gothic Skulls and Skulls & Roses sets are the ones people buy for it, and they still look right for the rest of the year.

What is included in a gothic duvet set?

A duvet cover with matching pillowcases: one with a single, two with a double or king. Fitted sheets are sold separately.

Will black bedding fade in the wash?

Wash it cool with similar colours and turn it inside out, and it holds up well. Avoid bleach and anything described as a brightener, and dry it out of direct sunlight, which is what actually fades dark fabric.

Is gothic bedding suitable for children?

The celestial designs, with moons and stars, go down well in older kids rooms. The skull and tarot designs are aimed at adults, so use your judgement on that one.
